C i t y o f M e t h u e n A n n u a l R e p o r t : 2 0 1 2FIRE STATIONS:The Methuen Fire Department operates out of four (4) Fire Stations,strategically located throughout the city as follows:Central Fire Station (Headquarters) Built in 189924 Lowell Street Methuen, MA 01844-6825This station houses the Administrative Offices including, the Fire Chief,the Assistant Fire Chief, and the two (2) Captains. Dispatch operationsare also organized here.Apparatus: Engine-1, Rescue-1, Ambulance-1, Ambulance-2.Additional Apparatus: Ambulance-3, which is not staffed due to lackof personnel, Mass Decontamination Unit, Utility Truck, Rescue boat,and Engine-7 (out-of-service 1955 Antique Fire Truck).East End Fire Station Built in 1918154 Swan Street Methuen, MA 01844-5954Apparatus: Engine-5, with an assignment of one (1) Officer and two (2)Firefighters.Additional Apparatus: Brush Truck (Forestry), which requires Engine-5to be taken out-of-service whenever needed.West End Fire Station Built in 19671 Bean Street Methuen, MA 01844-2212Apparatus: Engine-3, with an assignment of one (1) Officer and two (2)Firefighters.Additional Apparatus: Reserve Engine-2, Public Safety Vessel, whichrequires Engine-3 to be taken out-of-service whenever needed.North End Fire Station Built in 1984250 Howe Street Methuen, MA 01844-2609Apparatus: Engine-6, with an assignment of one (1) Officer and two (2)Firefighters.Additional Apparatus: Ladder-1, with an assignment of only two (2)Firefighters and no Officer.EmergencyServices(continued)‣ Water Emergencies‣ Including MerrimackRiver Emergencieswith the PublicSafety Rescue Vessel‣ Meth LabDecontaminationTask Force Team‣ MassDecontamination‣ Mutual Aid toSurroundingCommunities‣ Public Assistance‣ Including water &sewer emergencies,lock-outs, electricalemergencies,flammable gas &liquid emergencies‣ Police Assistance‣ D.P.W.
