Overview<strong>Centurion</strong> <strong>Guided</strong> <strong>Wave</strong> <strong>Radar</strong>Principle of OperationLow power microwave pulses are transmitted along a cable or probe to the product being measured. At the point where the wavemeets the product surface it is reflected by the product. The unit automatically calculates the distance to the pulse reflection usingtime of flight & time expansion. The intensity of the reflection depends on the dielectric constant of the product. The higher thedielectric constant, the stronger the reflection will be e.g up to 80% reflection for water. The instrument measures the time betweenemission and reception of the signal which is proportional to the distance.Contact with the measured product ensures precise accuracy.FunctionPrimary Areas of ApplicationThe <strong>Hawk</strong> range of TDR product are ideal for themeasurement of liquids, powders and granules to a rangeof 35m.
