NON-TIMED TASKS1. CLAUSTROPHOBIA TESTRequirement:Procedure:The Candidate shall don a self-contained breathing apparatusface piece and weighted vest while negotiating an establishedconfidence course.Wearing a weighted vest and a blacked out SCBA mask, thecandidate shall traverse the entire length and width of anestablished SCBA training course following a hose line makingconstant progress.Removal of the mask prior to completion or failing to completethe course is a failing grade.2. LADDER CLIMBRequirement:Procedure:Penalty:The Candidate, who shall be in a safety harness, and securedwith a tethered safety line, shall climb the aerial ladder set to a65 degree angle for a distance of 55 feet. The candidate mustclimb the ladder in a continuous motion without stopping.Once the candidate places both hands on the final rung, theyshall signal the station monitor they are done and climb backdown.Wearing helmet, gloves, weighted vest, and a safety harnessthe candidate will climb the ladder of an aerial truck. At thetop the candidate must give a signal that they have reachedthe final rung. Once the station monitor acknowledges thehand signal, climb back down in the same manner alwaysmaintaining a vertical body position.One non-penalty warning will be given for stopping, thesecond time the candidate stops they will have failed thisstation.6
