One bay was to accommodate a B747400 while the other the new A380. The project involved thedemolition of an existing electrical power substation andfire pump station without any interruptions to the ongoingoperations. Coordination with Air Canada’s user groups andunderwriters, GTAA and other authorities was a critical partof this assignment. Work also included budget cost estimatesand assisting the client with related financial analysis andpresentations of data to various stakeholders.AIR CANADA FLIGHT TRAINING CENTREEXPANSIONToronto Pearson International AirportAir CanadaToronto OntarioThe project involves the addition of two flight training simulatorsto the existing Air Canada Flight Training Facility at TPIA.Two simulator halls have been added to the south side of thebuilding. The new halls accommodate two state-of-the-art B767and A320 flight simulators with hydraulic motion systems, aswell as support areas for offices, computer rooms, meetingrooms, classrooms and service rooms.With this expansion, Air Canada is able to provide simulationtraining services, in one location, on the RJ80, DC9, A320,B767, A330, A340 and A320 aircraft. The original training centrehas grown, through various expansions, from a 2-simulatorfacility in 1967 to the present 9-simulator centre.
