Life Purpose - AudioHello my special VIP, welcome to this month’s lesson. Now this month’s topic is big, very big. It’s a super huge topic and the topic is this -- ‘Purpose’, ‘Life Purpose.’ Yup,that’s a big one. What is your life purpose? What is the meaning of your life? What isthe big purpose you have that drives you that motivates you that encourages you thatgives you strength and power every single day? Now, before we talk about that, we should probably discuss the difference betweengoals and purpose because there is, in fact, a very, very big difference, a very importantdifference. Now, everybody has goals, but many people don’t feel that they have a purpose. Andyou can have more than one purpose. You might have a couple different purposes inyour life, but what’s the difference? You know everybody has goals, but not everybody has a purpose, that feeling of ahuge, big, life purpose and meaning that gives them energy and power every single day.A lot of people don’t have that. So the main difference is what is a goal? Let’s ask thatfirst. What is a goal?So a goal is something that you want in the future. For example, you might say my goalis to make $50,000 U.S. dollars a month. Maybe that’s your goal. Is that a purpose? It’snot. It’s not a life purpose. It’s not a purpose at all. Does that mean it’s bad? No, it’s fineto have goals. We all have goals. I have goals. Everybody has goals. Goals are great. One of the great things about goals is that they are measurable. You know if youachieve them or not, so they can also help to motivate you quite a bit. They can alsogive you a good amount of energy. Goals can push you to grow, to become more, tolearn more, to be a better person, to be a more effective person, a stronger person, amore caring person, a healthier person. You know, goals are great, but the difference is this. Well, the good part about a goal isthat it’s measurable, you know if you achieved it or not. If you say I want to make$50,000 a month every month, well, you know if you did it. You can look at your bankstatement or your paycheck and you can see well, I only made $30,000 this month, so Ihave not achieved my goals yet. So very clear, very measurable. When you make goalsthat’s what you want. You want them to be clear and measurable. If you read any book about making goals or setting goals, they always tell you to be veryspecific and to have measurable goals. So, let’s say in the area of health. Maybe youfeel like you’re overweight, so you say I’m going to lose 15 pounds or 10 kilos; again,www.EffortlessEnglishClub.com
