This goes for all the draining activities in your life, eliminate them. Maybe you can’t do itin one day, but make it your purpose. Make it your goal to get rid of them over the nextmonth or two. It’s going to require some tough, hard, decisions, but you can make thosedecisions and you can do it and as you eliminate those things then, of course, you wantto replace them with other activities that make you feel happy and passionate and alive.You want to spend more time with the people who make you feel happy, passionate andalive. I mean that’s a clue. If there are certain people in your life that make you feelfantastic, there’s something you can learn from those people. Maybe you want to bemore like those people. Maybe you should look at those people and how they live theirlife and maybe you can find some good ideas for your own life from them or maybe youjust need to spend time with them. Maybe you just need to be around them more, talk tothem more, because they make you feel great.So make that a goal. Call them up every week. Schedule more time with them. Spendmore time with those people and find more people like that. When you meet otherpeople who make you feel great then spend time with them. Stay in touch with them.Then once you’ve done this then you can start eliminating the mediocre activities orchanging your attitude about them.Some mediocre activities you can’t eliminate. Brushing your teeth, for example, I wouldnot recommend eliminating that one. It’s good to have clean teeth. Or maybe you couldmake it a little more fun. For example, if you have children, what if you made a new littleritual in your family and you brushed your teeth with them every morning and everynight, a little extra time with your children.Maybe you could make it into some fun little game with them, like see who can brushtheir teeth the longest or you could make funny faces while you’re brushing your teethand you could actually have a nice kind of fun time with your children brushing yourteeth. I don’t know. It’s just an idea. It’s just a way you could take a mediocre everydayactivity and make it a little more special.Or if you are alone, you could brush your teeth, but make it a meditation exercise so youcould focus and clear your mind and just focus on your breathing and then focus veryintensely. Concentrate on the feeling of the toothbrush moving over your teeth andtouching your gums and really make it into an exercise of concentration and awareness.That would also change a mediocre activity into something a little more purposeful.See what I mean? You can do it with something even as simple as brushing your teeth,because, see, your big life purpose is born in your everyday activities.
