marathon and you train and you exercise and you do all these things and then you runthe marathon and after that it’s finished.I did that. I ran two marathons. It was one of my big goals in life, I wanted to runmarathons. I ran two of them and then afterwards I mean I felt great, but then after I sortof starting feeling well, that all? Do I just run another one and another one and anotherone? Well, that seems like I’m just doing the same thing again, hum. I had a little bit ofnot depression, but a little bit of disappointment after achieving that goal.See, that’s what can happen with goals so often. That’s why purpose is so important, sohere’s the difference. A purpose has no end. It never ever ends. It’s so big, it’s so huge, there’s not one specific finish line. Let me give you an example.A goal is to run a marathon. A purpose is to be an example of super health and energyand to help other people who are suffering, who are in bad shape, who are physicallysick, get stronger and get healthier and also feel great and super energetic. That’s apurpose. You see the difference? That purpose can never end. There will always be other people in the world who feelbad who you could help feel better, feel stronger and healthier and if your purpose is tobe a super example of health and energy that also never ends. You can’t become superhealthy and then decide well, I did it, now I can eat donuts and sit and watch TV all day.You can’t do it, because then you’ll no longer be super healthy and you gotta startagain. It’s not a goal it’s a purpose that will keep you motivated all of your life. It’s part of you. It’s part of the meaning of your life. It never ever, ever ends. See, that’s the difference.A purpose is really a huge life direction. You can have a purpose and inside the purposeyou might have a lot of little goals. So if I want to be an example of super health andfitness all my life, well, I might have goals like I want to run a marathon. I want to lifeweights. I want to do this and I can achieve those specific goals, but then there willalways be a new one. There’s always going to be something new because I have thisbig purpose. One of the things about a purpose, usually, is it’s bigger than just you. It’s not only aboutjust you, right? In that example, I said I want to be an example of super health andfitness for other people; to inspire other people to be healthy and to help other peoplefeel better, feel more energetic, not be sick so much and be more active. You see thedifference? It involves other people. I’m an example for other people. I’m helping otherpeople. It’s almost infinite. I can always find a way to do that. It’s never going to end. It’s the same, let’s say, financially, with money. You can say I want to earn $1 million ayear. Maybe that’s a lot of money to you. Maybe that’s not a lot of money to you. I don’twww.EffortlessEnglishClub.com
