REVIEWDuring passed few years <strong>the</strong> main activity <strong>of</strong> Slovakia in <strong>the</strong>River Inform<strong>at</strong>ion Services project concentr<strong>at</strong>ed on <strong>the</strong> COMPRIS(Consortium Oper<strong>at</strong>ional Management River Inform<strong>at</strong>ion Services)project. Local n<strong>at</strong>ional institutions mainly involved in this projectwere Transport Research Institute, Inc. Zilina, a branch for developmentin w<strong>at</strong>er transport in Br<strong>at</strong>islava, St<strong>at</strong>e Navig<strong>at</strong>ion Administr<strong>at</strong>ionBr<strong>at</strong>islava, Slovensky vodohospodarsky podnik, <strong>the</strong> companyOZ Br<strong>at</strong>islava Ltd. in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> digital maps for inland navig<strong>at</strong>ionand KIOS, Ltd. Piestany in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware applic<strong>at</strong>iondevelopment and electronic d<strong>at</strong>a interchange with public administr<strong>at</strong>ionauthorities. The company Slovenská plavba a prístavy,a.s. Br<strong>at</strong>islava, which provided vessels for <strong>the</strong> COMPRIS projecttesting and assisted in development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> messaging system forbo<strong>at</strong>masters, particip<strong>at</strong>ed in this project as a cooper<strong>at</strong>or.
