The Career Centre staff mayalso assist students to find work placement, graduate employment, summeremployment, and with alumni affairs after graduation.Financial AidStudents with financial aid needs (for laptops, meals, or others) should speakwith a college counselor or other student services staff. Student services staffwill assist student to access resources available. There may also be opportunitiesfor part-time employment at the college, as well. Bus transportation is providedfree <strong>of</strong> charge.Extra-Curricular ActivitiesThe Student Services Office supports and enriches the college experience <strong>of</strong>Madinat Zayed <strong>College</strong>s and Ruwais <strong>College</strong>s students. The Student Services<strong>of</strong>fice works closely with academic services, college administration, and thestudent body to make sure that students have access to a wide range <strong>of</strong> resourcessupporting their education, including international opportunities.STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICESTripsField Trips and projects are a required component <strong>of</strong> HCT academic programs. Iffield trips occur outside the timetable hours or out <strong>of</strong> town, the college will informthe parents through written letters requesting their approval for these trips.Student must travel from and return to the location designated in the permissionletters. No other arrangements, other than those agreed to in advance by parents/guardians, are possible. Students who commit to a field trip must attend, or maybe barred from travel during the academic year, if they do not show up. Field tripsrequests must be initiated by teachers via academic supervisors.Special EventsThe Student Services Office oversees student activities, organizations and events.Student Services staff work closely with academic departments, the studentcouncil, and community members to organize and participate in events outsidethe college, invite speakers to the campus, and other such activities that supportstudent development and add to classroom learning.Health ServicesThe Student Services Office provides workshops and educational material forstudents concerning health and wellness issues. In the case <strong>of</strong> an emergency orif a student is seriously ill, Student Services staff will contact the student’s familyto meet at the nearest hospital or to pick up the student. In case <strong>of</strong> emergency,first aid may be provided and an ambulance will be contacted. The college doesnot yet have a nurse or clinic on site, but this is expected to be added as soon asresources/space allow.Assistive <strong>Technology</strong> Learning Centre and Special Needs ServicesStudents with special needs may be eligible for extra support due to physical,medical or learning difficulties (such as chronic medical conditions, psychological
