Boring and kit installation available from S&S.Extensive combustion chamber modifications must be performed on stock cylinder heads in order to reduce compression to a reasonable level. Final compression depends on thechamber modifications performed.1991-’03 engines require conversion to 1986-’90 style pushrod tube assemblies when using adjustable pushrods. Available from S&S at time of order.Stock crankcases must be bored to accept the 35/8" big bore cylinders.1986-’90 style pushrod cover assemblies must be used to properly install the 89XLSS kit on 1991-’03 Sportster® models.89" kit – Frames may require minor clearancing–cylinders for this kit are .430" taller than stock.103" kit – Frames require major frame modifications–cylinders for this kit are 1.100" taller than stock–will not fit Buell®.Pinion and oil pump drive gears in 1988-’03 models must be replaced with 1986-’87 style gears when using S&S flywheels.
