From November 18-26, HAFA exhibition runs in the
Rhein-Main-Hallen, Wiesbaden. It is a family show, with
lots of information on various topics – holidays, gardens,
hobbies, fashion – plus entertainment. It is open from

“Glorreiche Rheingau Tage” takes place in various
venues in the Rheingau between November 4-12. The
idea is to celebrate the Rheingau’s wines with gourmet

The Farmers’ Market in Main-Taunus Zentrum is on
November 2, 16, and 30 and is located beside the
Kaufhof-Pavillon. From 9am-6pm.
The butterflies come back to the Palmengarten. The
“Schmetterlings” show proved so popular earlier this
year that there is a repeat performance. Without nets or
glass, you can watch brightly colored butterflies fluttering
around in their natural environment. Until February 25.
Besides the butterflies, there are chrysanthemums to
admire. The show of autumn flowers continues until
November 5.
The journey through life is documented on their skins:
The photographer Arno Gasteiger took pictures of 6 New
Zealand Maoris, whose tattoos, some self-done, some
with the traditional face tattoos – Ta Moko –depict their
life journeys. In the Museum der Weltkulturen, until
March 4.
November 25 is the “Satourday” when you can visit most
of the Frankfurt museums free. The idea is that families
can enjoy going around museums without spending too
much on the entrance fee.
In Wiesbaden, the European Youth Circus takes place
between November 2-5. Around 80 young artistes (top
age 25) from all over Europe come to participate. And not
only the artistes are there, many circus and variety
managers come to see the new talent which could be part

Cirque du Soleil presents “Dralion” in Frankfurt, on the
Festplatz, Ratsweg until November 5.

SPORT
The Skyliners are the basketball team in Frankfurt. The
team will play in the Ballsporthalle on November 11 at

Winter is fast approaching so ice hockey seems fairly
appropriate. The Frankfurter Lions play on November
3 and 17 at 7:30pm and 26 at 6:30pm. In the

Chang, Ivanisevic, McEnroe, Haarhuis, Courier, Cash, do
these names mean anything to you?
If yes, perhaps you better make note of these dates:

these illustrious tennis players will be playing in the ATP

skating on November 4. You can skate from 9 in the
morning until 10:30 at night on the various rinks and

THEATER
This is “Ibsen Year 2006,” celebrating the centennial of
Ibsen’s death, so it seems appropriate that a farcical
comedy, called “The Ibsen Follies,” comes to The
International Theater this month.
“A comedy about Henrik Ibsen? You don’t have to be a
literary buff to delight in this farcical romp about two reallife
young lovers escaping the brooding gloom of
Norwegian literary history to find their day in the
Scandinavian sun. The perfect way to celebrate Ibsen
Year 2006!” The playwright, Skot Davis, is an American
playwright/actor/director who lives with his German wife
in Hofheim. They have been in the Rhein-Main area for
most of the last eight years. His plays have been produced
around the Rhein-Main area and in the U.S. He is
producing “The Ibsen Follies” with a cast of very talented
local actors.
It will be running from November 2-5 and 11/12. Curtain
time is 8pm for all performances except on the 12 th when
there is a matinee at 3pm. Tickets are 15 euros for adults,
12, for students. Tickets may be purchased through the
