From <strong>November</strong> 18-26, HAFA exhibition runs in the<br />

Rhein-Main-Hallen, Wiesbaden. It is a family show, with<br />

lots <strong>of</strong> information on various topics – holidays, gardens,<br />

hobbies, fashion – plus entertainment. It is open from<br />

“Glorreiche Rheingau Tage” takes place in various<br />

venues in the Rheingau between <strong>November</strong> 4-12. <strong>The</strong><br />

idea is to celebrate the Rheingau’s wines with gourmet<br />

<strong>The</strong> Farmers’ Market in Main-<strong>Taunus</strong> Zentrum is on<br />

<strong>November</strong> 2, 16, and 30 and is located beside the<br />

Kaufh<strong>of</strong>-Pavillon. From 9am-6pm.<br />

<strong>The</strong> butterflies come back to the Palmengarten. <strong>The</strong><br />

“Schmetterlings” show proved so popular earlier this<br />

year that there is a repeat performance. Without nets or<br />

glass, you can watch brightly colored butterflies fluttering<br />

around in their natural environment. Until February 25.<br />

Besides the butterflies, there are chrysanthemums to<br />

admire. <strong>The</strong> show <strong>of</strong> autumn flowers continues until<br />

<strong>November</strong> 5.<br />

<strong>The</strong> journey through life is documented on their skins:<br />

<strong>The</strong> photographer Arno Gasteiger took pictures <strong>of</strong> 6 New<br />

Zealand Maoris, whose tattoos, some self-done, some<br />

with the traditional face tattoos – Ta Moko –depict their<br />

life journeys. In the Museum der Weltkulturen, until<br />

March 4.<br />

<strong>November</strong> 25 is the “Satourday” when you can visit most<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Frankfurt museums free. <strong>The</strong> idea is that families<br />

can enjoy going around museums without spending too<br />

much on the entrance fee.<br />

In Wiesbaden, the European Youth Circus takes place<br />

between <strong>November</strong> 2-5. Around 80 young artistes (top<br />

age 25) from all over Europe come to participate. And not<br />

only the artistes are there, many circus and variety<br />

managers come to see the new talent which could be part<br />

Cirque du Soleil presents “Dralion” in Frankfurt, on the<br />

<strong>The</strong> Skyliners are the basketball team in Frankfurt. <strong>The</strong><br />

Winter is fast approaching so ice hockey seems fairly<br />

appropriate. <strong>The</strong> Frankfurter Lions play on <strong>November</strong><br />

THEATER<br />

This is “Ibsen Year <strong>2006</strong>,” celebrating the centennial <strong>of</strong><br />

Ibsen’s death, so it seems appropriate that a farcical<br />

comedy, called “<strong>The</strong> Ibsen Follies,” comes to <strong>The</strong><br />

International <strong>The</strong>ater this month.<br />

“A comedy about Henrik Ibsen? You don’t have to be a<br />

literary buff to delight in this farcical romp about two reallife<br />

young lovers escaping the brooding gloom <strong>of</strong><br />

Norwegian literary history to find their day in the<br />

Scandinavian sun. <strong>The</strong> perfect way to celebrate Ibsen<br />

Year <strong>2006</strong>!” <strong>The</strong> playwright, Skot Davis, is an <strong>American</strong><br />

playwright/actor/director who lives with his German wife<br />

in H<strong>of</strong>heim. <strong>The</strong>y have been in the Rhein-Main area for<br />

most <strong>of</strong> the last eight years. His plays have been produced<br />

around the Rhein-Main area and in the U.S. He is<br />

producing “<strong>The</strong> Ibsen Follies” with a cast <strong>of</strong> very talented<br />

local actors.<br />

It will be running from <strong>November</strong> 2-5 and 11/12. Curtain<br />

time is 8pm for all performances except on the 12 th when<br />

there is a matinee at 3pm. Tickets are 15 euros for adults,<br />

At the English <strong>The</strong>atre in Frankfurt, a musical begins on<br />

<strong>November</strong> 9 th : “City <strong>of</strong> Angels.”<br />

“City <strong>of</strong> Angels takes place in the glamorous 1940’s in<br />

Hollywood. <strong>The</strong> story traces the misadventures <strong>of</strong> Stine,
