Comprehensive Development Plan – PKDA 2031Apart from this floating population haphazard and unplanned urbanization is the result of increasingpopulation growth and density, trans-migration from rural to urban areas, economic opportunities,agriculture land capture and other social compulsions.This is resulting in resources constraint due to detrimental land use patterns, diminishing water resourcesand greenery, increasing demand for land, shelter and infrastructure utilities, traffic congestion, narrowroads, increasing pollution levels, public health hazards, urban disasters along with an overalldecrease in the quality of life of people living in urban areas.These are the reasons that can be attributed for the need of a Comprehensive Development Plan. Thusthe Comprehensive Development Plan that will be prepared will take into consideration the existenceof both agrarian & tourist economy in this Development plan area and will ameliorate the dwindlingeconomy of the region.The region will prosper through the process of forward & backward linkages. The existence ofpersisting unemployment will be minimized to a greater extent. Employment will increase manifoldthrough the multiplier effect of the new infused economy. With the directed & infused growth incentivesrightly being applied to this region, the region will witness enhanced growth in future decades & soalso the social & economic benefits will be optimally distributed.1.4 The VisionTo develop PKDA region as a vibrant tourist destination by weaving within its scenic fabric , thereligious significance, culture and heritage, while augmenting the economic development henceimproving the quality of life and sustaining the growth with regional development.Fig 1.7: Different components of Vision-2031 for PKDACEPT, Ahmedabad 4
