2012 <strong>Triple</strong>-M Tour in Scottish BordersThis is an early <strong>no</strong>tification to keep your diaries clear for theweekend of 25-28 May 2012, when a group from the CaledonianCentre are planning a <strong>Triple</strong>-M event in the Scottish borders, whichwill be called <strong>The</strong> Border Reivers' Raid, to be run along linessimilar to the very popular Flat Cap & Whippet Weekends.This event has the backing of the <strong>Triple</strong>-M <strong>Register</strong> Committee,and the approval of the FC&W organisers, Bob & Terry, althoughwe admit they are a hard act to follow! We intend to offer beautifulscenery seen from quiet roads, some challenging drives, interestingplaces to visit, and perhaps one or two surprises.<strong>The</strong> Rally will be centred on a suitable quality hotel near Peebles,and parking will be available for trailers and tow-cars, sodistance will <strong>no</strong>t be accepted as an excuse for <strong>no</strong>n-attendance.Further details will be posted nearer the time, but in the meantimemark these dates in your diary, and email me atmmmborderreiversraid@acme-properties.co.uk, if you want to bekept <strong>no</strong>tified of developments and have a priority entry.Ex-works Demonstrator 4-seater PBThis car (PB0295) is currently being restored to originalspecification by Bryan Ditchman, who has been sourcing as manyoriginal parts as possible to establish how these cars were built. Heis proposing to have it on display at MG Silverstone, in its partiallyrestored state, to show how these cars were constructed.It will bemounted on the chassis, with the timber body frame skinned o<strong>no</strong>ne side only, with the other side unskinned to show the details ofthe body timbers, particularly at the rear end, and the details of therear mountings, which have all been established followingdiscussions and examination of other cars. James Pettit, who hasbeen carrying out a lot of the work, will be on hand to discuss thevarious aspects of the body, and assembly methods to beef up thebody framework
