Triple-M Technical ArticlesFrom Peter Hemmings, LibrarianThese days many Triple-M owners post their technicalqueries on the website discussion forums (www.triplemregister.org)and often get swift answers to their questions. However over the seventy plus years that our cars have beenon the road, most of the issues people come across havebeen covered in some form or other in a technical articleproduced either by the MG Car Company or by the Registerand others in past Yearbooks, Infoletters or Bulletins. There is an excellent and comprehensive Technical Indexcompiled by enthusiast Pat Mullen available on-line at theNorth American MMM website (www.nammmr.org) but thiscurrently is only updated to 2003. Of course having trackeddown the appropriate article the reader is still faced with thedifficulty of obtaining a copy. It has to be said this is probablywhy the discussion forums are so useful, unless you arefortunate enough to have a comprehensive library of relevantmaterial at home, or access to a real live “expert”!The Register Library can help to a degree because we holda good stock of back issues of Yearbooks which are availablefor sale, those relevant being listed below. Not only are thetechnical articles comprehensive and often well illustrated, but there is the bonus of other interesting historical, competitionand restoration articles that are a continuing feature of theTriple-M Yearbook.1979: Running repairs for the SU Pressure Pump - reprint oforiginal SU leaflet.1988/9: “Off your rockers” or why your Triple-M runs UGH! -Mike Allison1991: A paper element in MMM oil filters - John Harris.SU Petrolift - Bob Farnum1992: An electric fan for your J2 - Bob Farnum.White metalling - Mark Welbourne.
