OFFSHORE & MARINE TECHNOLOGY | INDUSTRY NEWS The Beaucephalus reaches a speed of 14.5 knots Platform supply vessel delivered HAVYARD GROUP | A Havyard 832 L SE platform supply vessel (PSV) was recently delivered in Bergen to Global Offshore Services B.V., a 100% subsidiary of Garware Offshore Services Ltd. The name of the 84m-long and 17.6m-wide newbuild no. 105 by Havyard Leirvik AS shipyard is Beaucephalus. The large medium size platform supply vessel Beaucephalus was designed by Havyard Design AS in Fosnavåg, Norway. The Havyard 832 L SE design is said to have found a new niche within the PSV segment. It has energyoptimised diesel electric propulsion and satisfi es the environmental demands of ”Clean Design”. The vessel is the eighth in line of Havyard 832 designs that have been delivered, with a further three ships under construction. Havyard 832 L SE is Drilling data solutions SITECOM | Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies has entered into an agreement with Statoil to extend the use of the Kongsberg SiteCom® real-time drilling data solution, Discovery TM Web data browser and SmartAgent calculation tools across all well operations. The agreement runs for three years, with an option to extend it for a further two years. According to the company, SiteCom is currently in use 46 Ship & Offshore | 2011 | N o 1 based on the Havyard 832 CD design and has been further developed in accordance with customer as well as general market demands. Compared with a standard Havyard 832 CD, this new design is extended and also has a larger ship interior. As a result, Havyard 832 L SE has a greater deadweight tonnage (4500), accommodations for more people (54 persons) and is far more fl exible as regards the types of jobs it can do. In addition to usual platform supply jobs, this vessel has been designed to perform smaller types of construction work and general maintenance and repair on subsea oil installations. The ship is prepared for installation of offshore cranes as well as ROV (remotely operated vehicle) handling. The Havyard 832 L SE design is also prepared for moon-pool arrangements. on several European Statoil well operations and is supposed to be rolled out across the company’s global well operations over the course of the next two years. By this time, Kongsberg said, Statoil will be using more than twice as many SiteCom licences as it is today. SiteCom has been designed to facilitate safer, faster and better informed drilling decisions, based on better information. It is said to achieve FPSO conversion JURONG SHIPYARD | The Aframax tanker MT Arc II will be converted into a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The contract, worth approximately $351 million, has been secured by Jurong Shipyard (JSPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine. The FPSO will be renamed Petrojarl Cidade de Itajai for Teekay Petrojarl Production AS. The contract involves the conversion of the oil tanker into an FPSO that includes detailed engineering, installation and integration of 16 topside modules, installation of spread mooring and power generation systems, accommodation upgrading as well as extensive piping and electrical cabling works. The MT Arc II will be converted into an FPSO this by integrating real-time and historical data, reports, fi les and chats from a large number of sources on the rig and making them available to a community of professionals and stakeholders. This is done by means of a single Web-based interface. Statoil has expanded its use of SiteCom by deploying Discovery Web and SmartAgents alongside SiteCom. Discovery Web is a visualisation tool that Scheduled for delivery in the fi rst quarter of 2012, FPSO Petrojarl Cidade de Itajai will constitute part of the Tiro e Sidon fi eld development plan. On completion, owner Teekay Petrojarl Production AS will charter the FPSO to Petrobras for nine years with options. FPSO Petrojarl Cidade de Itajai will be installed in approximately 277m water depth on the Tiro e Sidon Field offshore Brazil. It will be capable of processing at least 80,000 BPD (barrels per day) of oil and 70.0 MMscfd (approx. 82,500 Nm 3 /h) of gas, injecting more than 96,000 BPD of water and storing 650,000 barrels of oil. In addition, the FPSO is designed to remain on the fi eld for up to 15 years without dry docking. makes all curves, survey data, mud log data, rig activity, image logs and key performance indicators available in a Web-based browser. SiteCom SmartAgents are easy-to-connect custom modules designed to perform real-time calculations required for better interpretation, to check data quality and to help manage the performance of the vendors and service companies working on the project.
