Some of itsother advantages include large effectiveinterfacial area, high mechanical strength(its monolithic construction overcomesthe problem of “opening out” at endsas experienced in ring shaped packings)and low cost. It is available in varioussizes, which give different combinationsof efficiency and pressure drop.
