INSTALLING 55-57 CHEVROLET INTERIORDOOR PANEL STAINLESS TRIM1. Gently pry the tab up from the steel insert in the back of the trim. Thiscan be accomplished with a small sharp blade from a pocketknife.Bend the tabs up enough so that you can get under them with a pair ofneedle-nose pliers.2. With the needle-nose pliers, stand each tab up perpendicular to thetrim. Make sure the pliers are bending the whole tab all the way to thebase.6625 WEST WILSHIRE BLVD. 3. Insert the tabs through the door panel upholstery and hardboardmaterial. If your door panel hardboard has the holes pre-punched butyour upholstery does not, you will want to punch these holes with anawl or scribe first. If your upholstery has stitching under the moulding,use care to prevent cutting the threads when you push the tab throughthe door panel.4. While keeping the tabs through the holes, lay the trim and door panelface down on a protective surface such as a soft cloth or blanket. Whilekeeping pressure on the door panel against the trim, bend the tabsover in the direction from which they were lifted in step #1. You can dothis with a plastic mallet or with finger pressure.
