10<strong>Tribal</strong> Group plc <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> and <strong>Accounts</strong> <strong>2012</strong> | Chief Executive’s reportBuilding stronger internationalcapabilitiesVocational learning<strong>Tribal</strong> delivers a broad spectrum of systems and solutionsacross the Further Education and work-based learning markets.We offer our UK market leading ebs4 TM and Maytas TM studentmanagement systems, together with analytics, review andevaluation, and adult learning solutions targeted at improvingeducation and training delivery. Our activities are strong both inthe UK and internationally.In the UK we extended our market leadership in FurtherEducation college student management systems, securing eightnew colleges during <strong>2012</strong>, and in New Zealand our ebs4 TMstudent management system is now operational in four Institutesof Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs).Internationally, we are pleased with our progress on the StudentAdministration and Learning Management (SALM) programmein New South Wales. Amongst other elements, this projectwill deploy our student management systems across all 136Technical and Further Education college (TAFE) campuses inNew South Wales.This major programme, with a potential contract valuesignificantly in excess of A$40m, forms part of the LearningManagement and Business Reform programme under which theNew South Wales Department for Education and Communitiesis upgrading business systems across all state-run educationinstitutions. Our enhancements to our existing ebs4 TM andSynergy TM systems, which tailor these systems for the SALMprogramme, are well advanced for deployment to users during2013.Looking beyond the SALM programme, we are now seeing earlystage opportunities for other large scale student managementsystem programmes based on our credentials, and we will beseeking to take advantage of cross-selling opportunities offeredby i-graduate’s customer base in Further Education.Our Further Education based analytics work continues todevelop well. We have recently extended our contract underwhich we provide operational and financial benchmarkingsolutions to all ITPs in New Zealand, and we have securedour first operational benchmarking contract in Australia forthe Central Institute of Technology, Western Australia. Ourevaluation and analytics activities also cover more than half ofall colleges in the UK, and we continue to progress well withour evaluation / inspection work on behalf of Ofsted, the UKGovernment’s Office of Standards in Education, Children’sServices and Skills.International software development resourcesUKChinaBrazilAustralia
