Our commitment and determination in thisrespect is reflected in the anti-bribery and ethics policy, in whichour staff have received training.Engaging people<strong>Tribal</strong> operates from a number of offices in the UK, as well asinternationally. We use a combination of group-wide updateswith specific local communications and engagement surveysto ensure that our people have a good understanding of thedirection in which we are headed. Twice a year, approximatelyone in ten of our people are invited to the ‘<strong>Tribal</strong> Summit’,which allows engagement across all levels and disciplinesin the business, on matters ranging from strategy andmarket developments, through to employee matters and ourcommunications strategy. We supplement these events withcontinual communications through a number of channels,corporate social media and staff roadshows.Our employer brand continues to be an important element ofwhat will make us a success in the future. In <strong>2012</strong>, we continuedto work towards further IiP accreditation, we increased ourISO accreditation 9001 (quality management systems) in sitesaround the Group, and we extended our 14001 (environmentalmanagement systems) and 27001:2005 (information technology)accreditation, where appropriate.Sustainability<strong>Tribal</strong>’s corporate commitment to sustainability aims to make apositive difference to our business, the market place in which weoperate, the wider community and the environment.During <strong>2012</strong>, we made good progress in a number of key areasof our strategy, such as using a ‘green’ electricity supplier andfurther rationalising our property portfolio. The use of our virtualmeetings service is now firmly embedded, and not only savedsignificant travel time and cost, but also reduced our carbonemissions. As we grow internationally, our people need to travelmore, but we are monitoring the impact our travel has, andcontinue to minimise its effects.In <strong>2012</strong>, we built on existing sustainability good practice in ourselection of suppliers, and continued with incentive programmessuch as the Cycle to Work scheme as part of our wellestablished broader staff wellness programme.<strong>Tribal</strong> Foundation<strong>Tribal</strong>’s charity, the <strong>Tribal</strong> Foundation, supports sustainableprojects in the UK, Australasia and the developing world whichreflect <strong>Tribal</strong>’s expertise in education. The Foundation is aregistered charity and is supported by staff fundraising initiatives,our payroll-giving scheme and donations from <strong>Tribal</strong>’s profits.Since its establishment, the Foundation has contributed over£400,000 to a variety of programmes. The Foundation seeksout projects which bring sustainable benefits, rather than shortterm remedies, and our activities include micro-credit schemeswhich encourage self-sufficiency, support for people withdisabilities, and clean water supply projects in the developingworld. We complement our support of these programmes withour local giving initiative, where <strong>Tribal</strong> offices nominate a localcharity to receive a donation towards a project connected toone or more of our staff.Our fundraising takes place throughout the year, but we have aparticular focus through an annual campaign, the ‘FoundationFortnight’, which gives our employees the opportunity to getinvolved in a variety of fundraising activities in support of theFoundation. In addition to the activities organised by <strong>Tribal</strong>’steam of Foundation Champions, individuals and staff groupstake part in sponsored activities throughout the year.
