Airlines and SkyTeam have now launched special promotion for its GLP members as well as frequent
fliers on other SkyTeam airlines. All frequent fliers of other SkyTeam airlines will be awarded an
extra 3,000 bonus miles (apart from usual bonus miles) when flying on the first international return flight
operated by Vietnam Airlines or the first return flight by Romania's Tarom Airlines (only one time during the promotion
period) between November 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011.

Web Check-in Now in Service
Vietnam Airlines has officially inaugurated the web check-in facility from August, 2010 at www.vietnamairlines.com
after successful trials. Passengers can now connect to the simple and user-friendly site, enter their
details such as the reservation code, choose the seat and print the boarding pass.
The facility now in full service will help passengers complete check-in procedures for domestic and international
flights departing from Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh, Siem Reap
(Cambodia) and Seoul, Pusan (Korea).
On this occasion, Golden Lotus Plus members will earn 200 bonus miles when using the check-in facility for each
flight during the period from November 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011.

New route
to Myanmar
Airlines has started a new route connecting
Ho Chi Minh City with Yangon,
Myanmar, since November 15, 2010 using
Airbus 320 aircraft, with the frequency of 3 flights
weekly, and will increase to 4 flights per week by
November 2011.
As such Vietnam Airlines now operates direct flights
connecting two big cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh
with Yangon and visa verse, with the frequency of 8
flights per week.
Vietnam and Myanmar are Mekong Delta sub-region
countries that also include Laos and Cambodia. The
bilateral relationship has been expanding in many
fields. This new route contributes to developing trade
and cultural exchanges, as well as to satisfying passenger
demand.
On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines offers special promotion
for GLP members as follows: Golden Lotus Plus
members, who purchase tickets and board on

New route from Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing
C
hina is a large tourist market for most countries in
the world, including Vietnam. In the strategy of
tourism development, the Vietnam National
Administration of Tourism ranks Chinese tourists in the
group that gets service priority.
In recent times, economic groups in China in general and
Beijing in particular tend to invest abroad thanks to the
economic expansion. One of the investment destinations
is Vietnam with its advantages in geographic distance
and low labour cost. Currently, Vietnam Airlines is the
only airline that operates non-stop flights between Hanoi
and Beijing, with encouraging results as seat occupancy
of approximately 80%, even some overloading has
emerged during the high season.
Moreover, with the Chinese government's policy to promote
outbound tourism and Ho Chi Minh City residents
seeking new tourism destinations, the travelling volume
between Ho Chi Minh City and Beijing is forecast to post
a strong growth.
Therefore Vietnam Airlines has decided to open the new
route linking Ho Chi Minh City with Beijing from
December 15, 2010 using Airbus 321 airplanes, with 3
flights weekly, departing on Monday, Thursday and
Sunday. Vietnam Airlines will increase the frequency to 4
flights per week in its 2011 summer schedule and will
study the possibility of increasing the frequency to five
flights a week if the market is large enough.
On this occasion, the GLP Program implements the following
promotions:
- Golden Lotus Plus member will be rewarded with 100%
bonus miles more, apart from ordinary bonus miles, for
booking classes C, D, J, Y, K, W, S, B, H, L, T, M when purchasing
and boarding on Vietnam Airlines flights for Ho

International workshop on FFP program
FFP annual seminar was organized by Airlines Information in Canada on October 13 and 14, 2010. More
than 400 representatives from marketing companies, the international aviation organizations and leaders of
the frequent flyer programs of airlines, including representatives of the Frequent Flier Program center -
Vietnam Airlines, attended the event.
Delegates viewed presentations by marketing experts analyzing the role of the FFP program in general, and the
measures to maintain the loyalty of its members in the context of the recent economic recession, the trend and
future of the FFP program, what impact this will have on the development of future programs... The experts also
highlighted the growth and increased competitiveness between frequent flyer programs at non-airlines companies
and why these programs attract their customers. Furthermore, attendants also learned from the experience
of other airlines how to create profits through FFP business and the strategies on building customer loyalty to the
company's products.
Attending the workshop, Golden Lotus Plus center acquired new knowledge and valuable experience from
experts and marketing managers, operations other FFP programs for study and thus may apply them in executing
Vietnam Airlines' Golden Lotus Program.
