On the occasion of Vietnam Airlines and
Tarom joining SkyTeam, with the aim
to introduce Vietnam Airlines and Tarom,
Vietnam Airlines launches a special promotion
for its GLP members as well as for frequent fliers of other SkyTeam
member-airlines. This is also a chance to attract frequent fliers on
other SkyTeam airlines to board Vietnam Airlines planes. The promotion
goes as follows:
- All frequent fliers of SkyTeam airlines will be awarded an extra
3,000 bonus miles (apart from usual bonus miles) when boarding
Vietnam Airlines' first international return flight operated by the
airline (only one time) during the promotion period from

Gathering love and pleasure
J oining
SkyTeam marked a step
forward of Vietnam Airlines in
the integration process. New
chances now accompany new
responsibilities to satisfy the high
demand for serving frequent flier in
line with SkyTeam standards, to
strengthen the coordination
between GLP Center and related
service offices, to improve the abilities
of GLP regional office and brand
office coordinators. To achieve this
aim, GLP Center held the Golden
Lotus Plus Seminar 2010 at Sun Rise,
Nha Trang on September 9, 2010
with the participation of functional
divisions and GLP coordinators.
At the seminar, Golden Lotus Plus
Center updated the latest features in
GLP's regulations after Vietnam
Airlines joined SkyTeam such as eligibility
tiers, new regulations and
attentions in redemption, purchasing
and transferring miles, claims for
missing miles on Vietnam Airlines
and SkyTeam flights, processing of
member card letters etc.
Participants discussed many questions
concerning booking, the service
process for GLP and SkyTeam
members, reporting flight data and
identifying member. Not all the
issues have been solved at the seminar
due to time limit but GLP
Center and all its coordinators will
keep in touch closely to improve
their service.
The Golden Lotus Plus seminar
has actually contributed to strengthening
the relationship between
Vietnam Airlines front offices and its
functional divisions to offer better
services to the passenger segment
which generates high revenues.
Apart from face-to-face discussion
and together tackling problems,
Vietnam Airlines staff and GLP coordinators
also had the chance to
meet and improve their working
relationship. The sea wind in the
sunny and charming city of Nha
Trang also contributed to the seminar's
success.

Vietnam Airlines in coordination
with the People's Committees in the
central city of Danang and nearby
provinces of Quang Nam, Quang
Ngai and Thua Thien-Hue held the
Global sales meeting to promote
tourism in Vietnam's central region.
Vietnam Airlines took this opportunity
to express honour and gratefulness to
partners, customers and organisations
from many countries for their major
contribution to its development and
growth, it told more than 300 delegates
from leading travel agents in
Vietnam's key tourism markers such
as Japan, South Korea, Germany,
France, Russia, Australia, Taiwan and
Hong Kong.
Vietnam would further develop
infrastructure and airline services to
promote tourism, and the national
flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will
expand its series charter service
involving direct flights to the central
city of Danang as a regular product in
coming time, delegates heard at a
global sales meeting held by the airlines.
Vietnam Airlines said it wished to
seize the chance, with help by international
specialists in the tourist promotion
and sale fields and support
from the authorities in central
provinces, to promote tourist destinations
in the country's central region in
the most direct and effective way.
Vietnam Airlines has been coordinating
with many tourist agents
aboard to arrange international

satisfy an increasing travelling

fact that Professor
Ngo Bao Chau won the
highest award in mathematics,
Fields medal, has
become not only a great
honour for him and his
family, but also the pride
of the nation. He is the first
Vietnamese mathematician
to have been awarded
with this prize, and
Vietnam has now become
the second nation in Asia after Japan to possess
the medal.
Upon arriving at Noi Bai Airport in his return to
Vietnam to attend a state-level welcome ceremony
with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung,
Professor Chau was presented by Vietnam Airlines
a Platinum Card in the Golden Lotus Program.
Platinum is the GLP highest tier, comparative with
Gold, Titan and Silver cards. The Platinum Card is
issued only after Vietnam Airlines has joined
Presenting GLP Platinum Card to
SkyTeam. At the moment,
Platinum Cards make up
only 1% of the total.
