STUDIO SCHOOL POLICIESStudents may submit a completed registrationform by mail, fax, in person, or online at www.ocac.edu/register. Phone registration is also availablefor all classes <strong>and</strong> workshops except <strong>Art</strong> Adventures.All tuition <strong>and</strong> studio fees are due at thetime <strong>of</strong> registration. Please register one studentper registration form. Additional forms are availableonline. Registrations are non-transferable.Age Requirements for 700-800 Classes<strong>and</strong> WorkshopsClasses <strong>and</strong> workshops are open to adults age18 <strong>and</strong> over. Students 17 <strong>and</strong> younger wishingto enroll should contact the Community ProgramRegistrar to obtain consent <strong>of</strong> the instructor <strong>and</strong>to complete a release <strong>of</strong> liability statement.Class/Workshop CancellationsIf a class should fail to meet minimum enrollment7-14 days before the first scheduled meeting, it willbe cancelled. If a class or workshop is cancelled, afull refund <strong>of</strong> tuition <strong>and</strong> studio fees will be made.Tuition DiscountsWe are pleased to <strong>of</strong>fer several discounts forStudio School tuition. Please see the registrationform for details. Discounts may not be combined<strong>and</strong> do not apply to studio fees, which must bepaid in full upon registration. Classes taken foracademic credit cannot be discounted.Studio FeesThese fees cover some materials used during theclass or workshop <strong>and</strong> the cost to operate the studio.Studio fees may not cover the cost <strong>of</strong> all materialsrequired, or recommended, by the instructor.Dropping <strong>and</strong> Adding ClassesIf you drop a course, you must notify the CommunityProgram Registration Assistant in writing, byfax, email, or postal mail. Refunds are calculatedfrom the date notification is received, not fromthe last day <strong>of</strong> attendance.• All drops are assessed a $35 processing feebefore refund.• No refund <strong>of</strong> studio fees will be given after theclass has begun.Refund policy for courses numbered 700(Studio School Workshops):Students dropping a workshop any time after registering<strong>and</strong> up to two weeks prior to the date it isscheduled to begin will receive a 100% refund <strong>of</strong>tuition <strong>and</strong> fees (minus a $35 processing fee). Weregret that no refunds can be given after that day.Refund policy for courses numbered 800(Studio School Classes):• 100% <strong>of</strong> tuition <strong>and</strong> fees (minus a $35 processingfee) up to one working day before theclass meets for the first time.• 75% <strong>of</strong> tuition (minus a $35 processing fee) upto one working day before the class meets for asecond time. No studio fees will be refunded.• No refund available the day the class meets forthe second time <strong>and</strong> beyond.FOR CREDIT REGISTRATIONDropping <strong>and</strong> Adding ClassesAny credit student may withdraw from a class priorto the third class session, or from a workshop priorto the second workshop session, <strong>and</strong> receive agrade <strong>of</strong> “W.” Any credit student who stops attending<strong>and</strong> fails to turn in the Drop Form by the appropriatecourse session will receive a grade <strong>of</strong> “F.”Credit Student ResponsibilitiesStudents taking a Studio School class or workshopfor one credit must commit to 45 hours <strong>of</strong>instruction <strong>and</strong> studio/home work, due beforethe regular grading date for that semester, if notdetermined to be due by last class (or earlier) bythe instructor. Instructors will assign outside-<strong>of</strong>classwork to students in addition to class workif the total instructional hours in a Studio Schoolclass or workshop does not equal 45 hours. Academicprogress is linked to course attendance.Students are responsible for the entire content <strong>of</strong>their courses <strong>and</strong> can expect that attendance willinfluence the evaluation <strong>of</strong> their performance.Transfer Credit (to other colleges)The transfer <strong>of</strong> OCAC credit is always at thediscretion <strong>of</strong> the receiving school. This generallydepends on the transferability <strong>of</strong> curricula <strong>and</strong> mayalso depend on comparability <strong>of</strong> accreditation.Student RecordsOCAC adheres to the provisions <strong>of</strong> the FamilyEducational Rights <strong>and</strong> Privacy Act <strong>of</strong> 1974(FERPA). Students have the right to inspect <strong>and</strong>to challenge the accuracy <strong>of</strong> the contents <strong>of</strong> theireducational records that are maintained by the<strong>College</strong>. The <strong>College</strong> will not release students’academic records to any person, agency or organizationother than <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficials <strong>and</strong> certainauthorized federal <strong>and</strong> state authorities withoutthe written consent <strong>of</strong> the student.OCAC designates the following items as DirectoryInformation: student name, address, telephonenumber, email address, status, concentration,degrees, honors <strong>and</strong> awards, dates <strong>of</strong> attendance<strong>and</strong> photographs. The <strong>College</strong> considers studentinformation confidential <strong>and</strong> only to be released foreducational purposes.
