ATHLETIC PROGRAMSWhat are the academic requirements to participate inInterscholastic Athletics?Students must have a 2.0 GPA with no failing grades in orderto participate in Interscholastic Athletics. Athletic eligibility isdetermined by quarter grades. Semester and final grades will notbe used to establish eligibility.Will I have to pay the Interscholastic Athletic Activity Feeto try out for an athletic team?Not to try out. However, beginning with the 2011-fall sportsseason, all students who participate on an athletic team must payan Athletics Activity Fee of $50.00. This one-time fee allows thestudent athlete to participate in as many sports as possible duringthat academic year. Students who may not be able to afford all orpart of the Athletic Activity Fee may request a waiver by applying tothe principal.Are there athletic programs available for special needsstudents?Students with special needs may try out for any of theInterscholastic Athletics teams that are offered. If they do not havethe ability to make the team, they can participate in the CorollaryAthletics Program. The Corollary Athletics Program offers thefollowing sports: indoor softball, bocce, and track and field.My child played middle school athletics.
