Mexico took this to heart when they involved
themselves in a project with UNICOLTAB (a non-

profit association) to rehabilitate a rural library
located in Tabasco, Mexico.
For this effort, Scomi provided the financial
means to renovate the entire library as well
as donated computers for library use.
With the slogan “Donate a book, promote
reading and take a library in your heart”,
Scomi and UNICOLTAB encouraged people
to donate books for the library. Donation
containers were strategically placed at
shopping centres, hotels, offices, universities
and schools and we are happy to say that by
the end of the library campaign over 1,000
books were collected.
Overall the project was a success and
will certainly benefit the children in the
community by providing them with a source
of knowledge.

IN support of the Police and Community Youth Center in Ballajura,
a residential suburb adjacent to our facility in Perth, Scomi Oiltools
Australia made a donation towards the centre’s activities for
disadvantaged children.
As a treat, these special-needs kids were treated to Circus Quirkus, a
non-animal circus style show that inspires fun and excitement.
Full of energy and quirky acts, the circus truly uplifted the spirits
of the kids if their laughter and delighted reaction was anything to
go by. Kudos to all the performers in Circus Quirkus for making the
kids so happy.
From its inaugural 2002 performance in Perth, Western Australia,
Circus Quirkus has become one of Perth’s most popular productions.
