ProjeCt PyraMid beginS SeaSon 3
Project Pyramid Season 3 was
officially launched on 3 September
2010 and officiated by our
Group CEO, Shah Hakim Zain. Since it
was launched during the holy month
of Ramadhan (fasting month), a simple
yet joyful Bazaar Ramadhan was held in
conjunction with the Season 3 launching.
At the launch, the Blue, Green, Red & Yellow
Houses from Scomi Sports Club (SSC) were
granted with a fund called the “Seed” fund.
Seed fund amounting to RM37,500.00 were
handed in the form of mock cheque to the
respective house captains. The Seed fund
allocated for the houses is to help them
to execute at least 4 CSR initiatives by end
January.
In the effort of reaching out to the
community within Scomi or at large, all
houses are required to plan their activities,
utilize the Seed fund wisely and at the same
time raise more fund for charity.
All staff are required to take part in this CSR
effort conducted by their respective house.
Their participation is part of their BSC
requirement that gains them points
for their performance appraisal while
encouraging them to be passionate about
contributing to the community around
them. The requirement is also meant to
actively encourage staff engagement.
For those new to Project Pyramid, here is
a quick run-down of its history. Launched
in 2007, the programme was a platform
to cultivate leadership capabilities, create
a mentoring environment, inculcate a
learning culture and foster “Living the
Brand” as the Scomi way of life.
With the success of Project Pyramid Season
1, it became the channel to deliver Scomi’s
commitment towards the society we
operate in through its CSR activities by
reaching out to diverse geographical work
locations. The programme fosters socially
responsible Scomi teams both locally and
globally. These teams actively participate
and contribute their efforts in activities
benefiting their community and the
environment.
