Should be able <strong>to</strong> receive and process SNMP traps from infrastructure componentssuch as router, switch, servers etc.2. Should be able integrate with Helpdesk system for incidents.3. Should be able <strong>to</strong> send e-mail or Mobile –SMS <strong>to</strong> pre-defined users for pre-definedfaults.4. Should trigger au<strong>to</strong>mated actions based on incoming events / traps. These actions canbe au<strong>to</strong>mated scripts/batch files.Network Management1. The Network Management function must moni<strong>to</strong>r performance across heterogeneousnetworks from one end of the enterprise <strong>to</strong> the other.2. It should proactively analyze problems <strong>to</strong> improve network performance.3. The Network Management function should create a graphical display of all discoveredresources.4. The Network Management function should have extensive reporting facility, providingthe ability <strong>to</strong> format and present data in a graphical and tabular display5. The Network Management function should collect and analyze the data. Once collected,it should au<strong>to</strong>matically s<strong>to</strong>re data gathered by the NMS system in a database. Thisenterprise-wide data should be easily accessed from a central location and used <strong>to</strong> helpwith capacity planning, reporting and analysis.6. The Network Management function should also provide information on performance ofEthernet segments, including capacity utilization and error statistics for the segment,WAN links and routers.7. Alerts should be shown on the Event Management map when thresholds are exceededand should subsequently be able <strong>to</strong> inform Network Operations Center (NOC) and notifyconcerned authority using different methods such as pagers, emails, etc.8. It should be able <strong>to</strong> au<strong>to</strong>matically generate a notification in the event of a link failure <strong>to</strong>ensure proper handling of link related issues.9. The Systems and Distributed Moni<strong>to</strong>ring (Operating Systems) of EMS should be able <strong>to</strong>moni<strong>to</strong>r:Processors: Each processor in the system should be moni<strong>to</strong>red for CPUutilization.
