Student profile Q&A<strong>UCA</strong> EpsomWhat made you decide to embark on a postgraduate courseat <strong>UCA</strong>?Having completed my BA in Fashion Design and working in <strong>the</strong>fashion industry <strong>for</strong> a year, I aspired to delve fur<strong>the</strong>r into <strong>the</strong> fashionmanagement and marketing side of <strong>the</strong> industry, to diversify myskills and gain experience.What most attracted you to studying here?Being a creative arts university with a huge collection of resourcesand access to <strong>the</strong> industry through guest lecturers, made me decideon choosing this university <strong>for</strong> my Masters. The course contentfur<strong>the</strong>r assured me I would be able to achieve my intended goals.What did you set out to achieve during your time studyinghere?After gaining some industry experience, I felt <strong>the</strong> urge to diversifymy area of study and explore <strong>the</strong> management side of <strong>the</strong> fashionindustry. So I intended to get an opportunity to interact with industryexperts and gain in-depth <strong>the</strong>oretical knowledge about marketingand fashion management. I also wanted to expose myself to adifferent culture, and meet people from different spheres of life.Has <strong>the</strong> proximity to London been an advantage to you?The close proximity to London definitely served as an advantage. Itgave me an opportunity to fur<strong>the</strong>r streng<strong>the</strong>n my research projectsby carrying out various observational and analytical aspects of myresearch, in London.What have you been doing since graduation?In future, I plan to start my own clothing line in India, but as of now Iam still looking out to gain more industry experience. Currently I aminterning with one of my guest lecturers in <strong>UCA</strong> and doing a mixedmedia painting course from Central Saint Martin’s.
