How many CR points can I win or lose in a match?The aim of giving more points to S9-S12 players when they win a match is to bring them throughthe grades quicker, making their points in comparison to Senior players more accurate.Adjustments when the winner has the higher points:Points DifferenceWinner S1-S8Winner S9-S12Loser S1-S120 -992030-20100 - 1991520-15200 - 2991010-10300+550Adjustments when the winner has the lower points:Points DifferenceWinner S1-S8Winner S9-S12Loser S1-S120 -992030-20100 - 1993045-15200 - 2994060-10300+50750Doubles PointsCR also maintains individual Doubles Gradings. The average of each partnership’s points is used todetermine adjustments made to each player.How often are Gradings recalculated?CR gradings are recalculated on the 1st and 15th of each month, or first workday thereafter. Therecalculation takes all new match results and processes them in date order. The Configure Rankingswebsite is updated immediately.Am I in CR already?Go to www.tennis.org.nz and search for your name. You can also search the list by Grading,Association, Club, and Age group. Also view your own match history or that of your friends oropponents.How do I get on CR?You need a CR Player Code. This is a 6-7 character code that uniquely identifies you. It has the format010
CBEWRF where CB = your Association (in this case Tennis Canterbury), FW = your Club (in this caseEdgeware), and RF = your initials (in this case RF is Roger Federer). Having a number in your code (asabove) means that more than one player at your club has the same initials as you.Tennis Canterbury will assign CR player codes based on the recommendations above. Please contactyour club administrator to create a code. Codes are transferred if you move club or region.Do I have to start at the bottom Grade?No – you will be assigned a starting Grade, based on club recommendations, that places you at a levelrelative to your ability. Thereafter, actual match results will gradually move you up, or down, to yourcorrect position.Is there a minimum age to be in CR?No – but results are only counted from events open to 10 year olds or older. So an 8 or 9 year oldcould be in CR if they are playing in 10s events. Results from 8s or 9s events are not included. Allmatches must be to a minimum of six games (normal deuce) for CR eligibility and must be approvedby the Region.What results count towards my Grading?All results count from tournaments on the Tennis NZ Calendar, including consolation events that arerun using TMS (Tournament Management System or TP (Tournament Planner). Results from matchesbetween New Zealand players in overseas events are also captured (eg ATP, WTA, ITF).Results from regional and club events can also be included when they have been flagged as countingtowards CR. National Teams events as well as many inter-provincial teams events are captured, alsoInterclub competitions run using the CR Interclub system will count. The more matches you play thenthe more accurate will be your Grading.What about Mixed Gender MatchesMixed gender matches can count towards CR points for grades S12, S11 and S10. Mixed gendermatches are common in rural areas of the country where playing numbers are low, or in startertournament play. Are defaults or retirements counted? Matches that are defaulted before a point isplayed are not counted for CR points. If a player retires or defaults for any reason after a match hasstarted, then the result is counted as a loss and they will lose points.Can I play Interclub or Tournaments without a Player Code?You must have a Player Code otherwise your results cannot be included in CR. It is important to alwaysinclude your Player Code when entering a Tournament.Tennis Canterbury011
