The museums, historical sites, and structures playan important role in the culture ofthe region and westernPennsylvania. Although not listed on the national register,other significant historical sites and structures exist.Providence <strong>Plan</strong>tation is a 44-acre farm near Evans Citythat is being recreated into an 18 th century plantation. Theplantation is to become a living-history interpretation and WoolslayerBridge extends 75 feeteducational resource demonstrating what living on the frontier across Brush <strong>Creek</strong> in New Sewickleywas like.Once a month, between April and December visitors Township, Beaver Countycan visitthe plantation and partake in a re-creation of the 18 thcentury, which includes entertainment and cuisine (Wills, 2007).Woolslayer Bridge, the only covered brid ge, remaining in the project area, is located at Brush <strong>Creek</strong>Park. N o longer utilized for vehicular traffic, it is a central landmark for Brush <strong>Creek</strong> Pa rk . Originallybuilt i n 1890 and then rebuilt in 1976, the bri dge spans 75 feet over Brush <strong>Creek</strong>.The Maridon Museum is located in downtown Butler, Pa. It is the only museum in westernPennsylv ania that focuses on Chinese and Japane se art and culture.
