This phenomenonis very complex and occurs as a result <strong>of</strong> endogenousand exogenous factors. The length <strong>of</strong> premenstrual periodis under influence <strong>of</strong> genetic, hormonal, nervousfactors, as well as all other exogenous factors that arepart <strong>of</strong> girl’s environment. Researches on this field areimportant from anthropological, medical and socialpoint <strong>of</strong> view. The aim <strong>of</strong> the work was to investigatethe influence <strong>of</strong> sport activities on the length <strong>of</strong> premenstrualperiod. The investigation was conducted infive municipalities <strong>of</strong> Tuzla canton: Gradačac, Kalesija,Lukavac, Tuzla and Živinice. There were 2500 girls inthe sample, ages 10,5 to 19,5, from primary and secondaryschools in Tuzla canton. For this part <strong>of</strong> research,309 girls who were up to one year older whenthey got their first menstruation were also consideredand compared to 435 girls who didn’t have their firstmenstruation. In establishing the influence <strong>of</strong> ITM,volume <strong>of</strong> subcutaneous fat tissue and sport activitieson the length <strong>of</strong> premenstrual period, informationfor girls whose decimal age coincided with first menstruation,or was bigger for one year, were analyzed.It’s been found that girls who are active in sports havebigger average values <strong>of</strong> body mass, height and BMI,comparing to girls who have menstruation and arenot active in sports. Also, there is a difference betweengirls without menstruation who are active insports and girls without menstruation who are notactive in sports. The length <strong>of</strong> premenstrual periodin girls active in sports is 12.84+/-1.23 SD years, andin girls who are not active in sports is 12.85+/-1.19 SDyears.Key words: first menstruation, sexual development <strong>of</strong>girls, sports47
