Two SpecialAwards, sponsored by the Institutionof Culture of Katowice – City of Gardens,were received by Arthur Pławski (for hisseries of photos called ”Button Truth,” relayingYouth Button Ball Championship organisedby the Association of Button GameEnthusiasts from Poznan) and IreneuszDorożański (the form of Image 1 from the”Pilgrims” series, from the annual men’spilgrimage to the shrine in Piekary thatcaught the jury’s attention). The SilesianLibrary’s Grand Splendor of the SilesianPress Photo was awarded for the fourthtime. This prize is awarded to a photojournalistwith extensive creative output,one who is an undisputed authority figurein the field and whose works have significantlyenriched contemporary Polish culture.This year, the winner was StanislawJakubowski.Nagroda specjalna: Ireneusz Dorożański „Pielgrzymi”Special Award: Ireneusz Dorożański ”Pilgrims”Highlights of the 11th edition of the SilesianPress Photo Gallery, are showcased inthe Main Hall of the Silesian Library. Theexhibition will be also be available at SilesiaCity Center in Katowice and the departurehall at Katowice Airport in Pyrzowice.
