(CFP) Program is an international recognized<br />
pr ofessi onal designat ion that is ad ministe red<br />
by the Financial Standards Council of Canada<br />
(FPSCC). The requirements to become a CFP<br />
involves the completion of the required course<br />
m a t e r i a l , s u c c e s s f u l l y p a s s i n g t h e<br />
a cc re di t at io n ex am s ( s ch ed ul ed i n J un e an d<br />
November each year), and having a minimum<br />
o f tw o ye ar s of p ra ct ic al e xp er ie nc e. I n th e<br />
past, <strong>Mohawk</strong> has been an associate provider<br />
f o r t h e C a n a d i a n I n s t i t u t e o f F i n a n c i a l<br />
Pl anning (CIF P), wh ich o ffered a s ix-cour se<br />
p r o g r a m t o c o m p l e t e t h e r e q u i r e d c o u r s e<br />

has developed an in-house CFP program that<br />
qualifies for the accreditation exams of the<br />

Management, Insurance, Investment Vehicles,<br />
Income Tax issues, Retirement Planning,<br />
Estate and Family concerns.<br />

planning including the time value of money,<br />
setting financial goals, budgeting, personal<br />
income tax, insurance, debt and credit<br />

This course examines the nature of capital<br />
marketgs. You will be introduced to the<br />
characteristics of securities, the operation of<br />
securities markets and the issues underlying<br />
modern portfolio theory. The course describes<br />
Canadian financial markets, investor objectives<br />
and the selection of investments to fulfil these<br />
objectives given the limitations of risk and<br />
