Here are some important tipsand information to help you settle in.Office OF ReSIDenTIAL <strong>Life</strong>and hOUSIngstudents.adelphi.edu/sa/rlhEarle Hall 100 • 516.877.3650Office HoursMonday through Friday: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.HousingRoom and Board InformationThere are a variety of room types allocated on a space-availablebasis, although some options may not be available to all residents.For the most current information on rooms and rates, visitstudents.adelphi.edu/sa/rlh/costs.php.How to Get HousingIf you want to apply for on-campus housing, you need topay the $300 housing deposit, the $250 tuition deposit andcomplete and return the <strong>University</strong> Residence Hall Agreement(found in the acceptance packet) by May 1, 2014, for priorityconsideration. <strong>Student</strong>s who meet the priority deadline will beeligible to participate in the new freshman online room selectionwhich occurs the second week of June. All other applicantswill be assigned by our housing professionals during thesummer. To pay your housing and tuition deposit online, visitadmissions.adelphi.edu/admitted and follow the instructions. Youwill need your <strong>Adelphi</strong> student ID number to set up your e<strong>Campus</strong>account. For information and instructions about e<strong>Campus</strong>, seepage 45. If you do not have access to the Internet or you arehaving difficulty with the online application, please complete andreturn the Residence Hall Agreement in your acceptance packet.If you lose this form, you can download another copy at students.adelphi.edu/sa/rlh/apply.php. Fall entrants must return this form byMay 1, 2014. Spring entrants should return it as soon as possible.Status of Your Housing ApplicationYou will receive a letter and email notifying you of your roomassignment details, including information about your roommate(s).If you would like to check on the status of your application, visitecampus.adelphi.edu and click on My Housing, located under theServices tab.Keep in Mind…• housing is not guaranteed. No one can guarantee you housing ora specific type of room. The sooner you file your Residence HallAgreement, the more likely you are to receive a room assignment.• Immunizations must be up-to-date and documented with HealthServices, and students must be registered for classes prior tomoving into the residence hall.• Air-conditioned rooms have an additional cost and air conditioningis only available during the hot months.• Depending on availability, you can change rooms during theyear. If your initial room placement isn’t working out, you mayhave other options.Residential <strong>Life</strong> at <strong>Adelphi</strong>There are seven distinctive residential communities at <strong>Adelphi</strong>:Chapman Hall, Earle Hall, Eddy Hall, Linen Hall, <strong>New</strong> Hall(Residence Hall A), Residence Hall B and Waldo Hall. Each hasa common area with a television; a kitchen area with an ovenrange, microwave and sink; vending machines; and card-operatedlaundry facilities. Each room has beds, dressers, desks and chairs;is wired for cable television, telephone and computer networkaccess; and provides each residential student with a mailbox andvoicemail. Residence Hall B is the newest residential building and a$20 million facility that features an environmentally friendly designand heating/cooling systems.Throughout the academic year, residential life sponsors seminars,workshops and events led by faculty, staff and non-<strong>Adelphi</strong>educators. For the safety of residents, all residence halls are lockedat all times and students must have an access card to enter theresidential buildings. In addition, hall attendants sit at the front deskfrom the evening through the early morning. Any person enteringthe building must have ID.
