Transfer STUDent InFORmATIOnTRANSFER TRANSITIONAll new transfer students entering in the spring or fall semester will attend Transfer Transition. As atransfer student, you have had some experience in college life. Now as you are getting started atAdelphi, Transfer Transition is an opportunity to meet current and incoming transfer students, and tofind out about the many resources and services that are offered at Adelphi University. You will alsohave an opportunity to meet your transfer ambassador. Your ambassador is a student leader whosuccessfully transferred to Adelphi University and now assists with providing fun, educational andinteractive programming for new and returning transfer students. Ambassadors are trained to providesupport to, resources for and advisement to transfer students who are in the process of acclimating toAdelphi University. The ambassadors also plan events through the school year.Closer to the beginning of each semester, visit students.adelphi.edu/gettingstarted for details aboutthe schedule and program. You are encouraged to get involved at Adelphi University, and duringyour Transfer Transition session, you’ll also find out about services offered through the Center forStudent Involvement, including Tau Sigma, the National Transfer Honor Society. In addition, transfer studentprogramming options will be presented by the Center for Career Development, study abroad, campus recreationand more. Click on thetransfer link and follow the instructions to conveniently lookup your Adelphi student ID number and create a password.all University communications, including academicwarnings, health alerts, job postings, leadershipopportunities and more, are sent to your Adelphi emailaccount, which will be activated when you create yourpassword. Once your account is set up, you can navigatethe CLASS online registration system. When you registerfor Transfer Transition, you’ll receive a confirmation emailto that account.q Register for Transfer Transition.Visit students.adelphi.edu/gettingstarted to register forTransfer Transition.q Submit health history and assessment/immunization requirements form.Prior to the first day of classes, health forms must besubmitted to the Health Services Center. Students will notbe able to attend classes and may be withdrawn from theUniversity if these forms are not submitted on time.q Complete the online Language Placement Examprior to Transfer Transition—the earlier the better!students earning degrees in the following majors arerequired to complete four semesters of a language ortransfer in the equivalent courses: anthropology, sociology,art history, communications, english, enviornmentalstudies, philosophy, political science; as well as studio art,biology, chemistry, interdisciplinary studies and physics(B.A. only). Completion of this exam must be done beforeTransfer Transition.
