This property’smaster plan and its first phase development were identified in the County’s 2008Parks and Recreation Master Plan. There is $3.6 million identified in the Countypark bond for the development of this regional park.OTHER OPPORTUNITIESTorrence Lytle SchoolApproximate Size: 10,000 sq. ft.Location: This old abandoned school is located directly next to the WaymerCenter, on the corner of Holbrooks Road and Central Ave.Description: The school has been designated as a Historic Landmark. TheHistoric Landmark Commission is looking to renovate the school for potentialnew tenants. The Town has had some discussion with the Historic LandmarkCommission about the use of one of the school buildings, particularly the twostorybuilding on the corner of Holbrooks Road and Central Ave. There has beendiscussion of possible funding/lease options that the Landmark Commission hasdiscussed with the town.Long Creek Elementary School (Old) Gym and FieldsApproximate Size: Over 12,000 sq. ft. of indoor space and 2 acres of outdoorspace.Location: 9213 Beatties Ford RoadDescription: This is the old school multipurpose room and cafeteria buildingsand the old gym as well as the two softball fields.
