Inspired by a tropical andfloral theme, the show reverberatedwith a beautiful Old Town feel whichwas complimented by the venue, thePoolside Garden at The Palace Hotelin Burj Dubai.Splash played host to Dubai’smedia, stylists, industry expertsand fashionistas who were dapperdressed in their cabana chic threads.The sunset show was preceded bytheme inspired cocktails & canapésserved to guests lounging in thepoolside cabanas and sun beds underthe warm spring sun.At sundown, as the lights came onthe attention moved to the catwalkbuilt on the pool. The glitteringfashion finish witnessed 26 maleand female models sashaying therunway donning Splash’s SS09collection. The outfits showcasedcome from collections that wouldbe available in Splash stores rightthrough the season until June 2009.Key inspirations for these werethemes from the 80s and vibrantrelaxed silhouettes.Models styled in elaborate backcombed hair dos inspired by the 60s,(L to R )Micky Jagtiani, Nisha Jagtiani and Raza Beigornate eye shadows and gigantic eye make-up walked onto the rampwearing linen in colours like white, vibrant yellow, bougainvilleaand azure blue giving the walk a youthful vibe. Next came summerycocktail dresses in luxe fabrics like chiffons and satins. These werefollowed by lively summer gowns, maxi dresses and kaftans styledwith exotic rainbow colored accessories.The extravaganza continued with outfits showcased in an electricbright palette inspired by the 80’s styling. Super-trendy, cool and sexy;the pop flavor of the 80s was reignited to suit the fancy of bad girlsand geeky boys. Bold and loud style statements personified the Trash-Glam-Punkette look in mini-skirts, neon tights, cropped jackets andshiny leggings. This finally gave way to stunning party wear with boldprints, graphic tees, and color printed distressed denim. The musicflowed into a perfect tempo, making it a befitting finale.Raza Beig, CEO-Splash, closed the show by walking the ramp forthe show finale along with Nisha Jagtiani.
