Internal Auditing, in turn, as well as monitoring transparency, has ongoing procedures forfinding possible conflicts of interest and preventing their occurrence in the Group’s companies.Internal Auditing is carried out in the central offices of the Bunge companies, in its industrial plants,and in regional offices. Top management of the companies is evaluated bymonitoring goals established in coordination with management. The CEOs’ offices assesscompliance with these goals based on factors such as level of investment, projects developed, andenvironmental and social management aspects.The economic, social, and environmental performance of each area is evaluatedaccording to indicators defined by the management. Monitoring these indicators generatesreports and assists in defining perspectives, studying scenarios, and making decisions.As a way of ensuring maximum employee participation in the management of its companies,Bunge has a series of communication channels and organizes various participatory events.Two of these channels for consulting and events are the corporate website andthe Intranet. Bunge Alimentos maintains the Banco de Idéias [Ideas Bank] and BungeFertilizantes has Alô Bunge [Hello Bunge].The events that foster direct communication between the companies’ leadership and employeesat all levels are: Diálogo Bunge, a meeting between leaders in which directors and managersparticipate; and the Bunge Alimentos Directors’ Workshop, which brings together its top executivestwice a year and holds four annual meetings between the directors and local leaders.Finally, there are three committees set up for specific functions.
