April is here and it’s the perfect
time to hit the beautiful
beaches. It would be mean
to let you go on vacation with
your regular Bermuda shorts.
Plus, two long weekends this
month are the perfect reason
to fab up for the Cruise
season.
Stripes
It should be the biggest trend
yet again, but stripes are no
longer a trend—they’re
more like a fashion staple.
They come back every
Cruise season, so invest in
some nice pieces and you’ll
be good to go for a long
time. Sonia Rykiel has the
best stripes in the world if
you have the cash. Alternatively,
you can opt for the
high-street brands for more
reasonable prices—from
mini to maxi, figure-hugging
dresses to blazers and even
playsuits.
Micro Mini
You’re going to need a pair
of lean straight legs to keep
up with the trend this season.
Designers have cut their
hemlines shorter than short
and the mini is this season’s
silhouette. And there’s no
better occasion to rock this
trend than going down to
the beach: slinky shorts, hot
pants, mini-dresses… go
for it! And while you’re at it,
throw on a fake tan if you
haven’t gotten your real one.
Monokini
This season is about statement
swimwear. Check out
Emilio Pucci and Diane
Von Furstenberg for supergorgeous
printed bikinis and
one-piece suits. But
the one shoulder and cutout
monokinis are what you
should be wearing this
summer. Team them up with
some fierce colorful bangles,
metallic heels and
a lychee martini and you’re
ready to make a splash
poolside.
Kaftan
For the moment, the hippest
frock to be wearing beside
that monokini is the
kaftan. It's a great way to
look fabulous in your swimwear
without necessarily having
to bear all. Cinch a sheer
multi-coloured flower or animal
print with a self-tie waist
belt over your swimwear, or
pair it with those short-shorts
and some embellished flats
for a glamorous after-sunset
drink session. Roberto Cavalli
and Moschino Cheap & Chic
have some show-stopping
pieces this season.
Glow
No, not that international
success, fresh-sexy-clean
perfume “Glow” by Jennifer
Lopez; it’s your personal
glow. This is a never-outof-trend
thing, so always
try to achieve it for yourself.

always remember to use it!
