(8.1.7) Digital TV• Exploratory use <strong>of</strong> digital TV for delivery <strong>of</strong> health-related servicesHCUpdateThe use <strong>of</strong> digital TV is being explored by a number <strong>of</strong> health boards within the context<strong>of</strong> the HeBE eGovernment project team. An exploratory project has been agreed withRTÉ to identify the migration path from analog to digital medium. A series <strong>of</strong>programmes is being written for Nationwide and also being written into the storyline <strong>of</strong>Fair City [Irish soap series]. This is being initially piloted in one health board area.(8.1.8) Integrated servicesHC• Development <strong>of</strong> a single point <strong>of</strong> access to all relevant health information and servicesas an integral part <strong>of</strong> the development <strong>of</strong> e-government services generally by end 2002UpdateThis project is pending PSB procurement. It will encompass health information webpages, which will build on the work <strong>of</strong> OASIS.The Health Board Executive (HeBE) eGovernment group plan to develop a strategy in2003 on how health information and services can be provided in the context <strong>of</strong> REACHand OASIS. A national eGovernment group, under the auspices <strong>of</strong> HEBE, was createdin mid 2002 to facilitate an integrated approach to eGovernment within healthcare.The Public Services Broker procurement process is currently in progress and this willinform the strategy for provision <strong>of</strong> health information and services online. It isrecognised that health must take advantage <strong>of</strong> overarching eGovernment initiatives suchas REACH and OASIS.(8.2) Additional eGovernment Projects(8.2.1) Marine Coastal ServicesCMNR• Online management <strong>of</strong> services <strong>of</strong>fered in the coastal zone (e.g. Aquaculture andForeshore licensing)60
