Two heat generators and threeheat consumers:the heat pump has everythingunder controlHeating Zone 2The heat pump manager monitors theoperation of the heat pump and provides allthe functions of a modern heating regulationsystem, including remote diagnostics andtime programmes for heating and hot waterpreparation.The heat pump, heating and hot water pumps,mixer motor and any supplementary heatingsources are all automatically activated by theWPM manager. For reversible heat pumps bothheating and cooling modes are managed bythe same controller.Heat pumpHeating Zone 1DHW cylinder and buffer tankSystem integration withexisting systemsThe WPM controller also allows Dimplex heatpumps to be efficiently integrated in ‘bi-valent’mode with existing systems. When combined inparallel with an existing boiler, the heat pumpmanager regulates the boiler in accordance toneed and ensures that no excessive temperaturescan enter the heating system.This way, for example, a filled oil tank can beused up before converting to heat pump onlyoperation later on, or provide the ability for theheat pump to manage the base heating loadwith supplementary support from an existinggas boiler. Such strategies provide an excellentopportunity for the installation of heat pumps inexisting homes and buildings.Integration with the renewablesFor optimal integration of renewable heatsources, the heat pump manager offers anoperating mode developed especially forpurpose. Thermal solar energy systems orbiomass boilers feed into a renewable cylinderfitted with an additional heat exchanger which,at a sufficient temperature level, gives priorityto this energy for heating or hot water, overriding the operation of the heat pump.Heat pump accessories43
