Identification and evaluation of the factors contributing to year-to-yearfluctuation in crop yields could provide a basis for the assessment ofproduction risk and for adjustments in management practices to reduce risk.The objective of this work was to evaluate the grain yield of differentcommercial maize hybrids under the agro climatic condition of Curtici areaduring 2009-2011 and to asses the magnitude of diversity among them.Given the average values over the three years it is noted that in 2010 weatherconditions were very significantly favorable compared to 2009 and 2011 interms of grain yield achieved by studied maize hybrids, allowing the obtainingof 21-22% yield gains. The highest mean grain yield over 10 t/ha and alsosignificant increases were mainly recorded by some hybrid of FAO maturitygroup 400, (PR36V74, DKC 5276, PR36D79, PR36K67, PR36V52), as wellas hybrids of group 300 (DKC, 4685, DKC 4490, DKC 4889).
