Career StatisticsUNSW <strong>Cricket</strong> <strong>Club</strong> Annual ReportCAREER STATISTICSOVERVIEWThe individual, team and partnership records published on the following pages are for those seasonssince the clubs inception into the Sydney Grade Competition (1973/74). For records prior to this time,refer to the 1972/73 annual report, which was the last for the clubs affiliation in the Municipal & ShiresCompetition.Qualification for club records are as follows:Batting**: Two day competitions: 250 runs, Limited Over competitions (i.e. 1st Grade Limited Overs,Poidevin‐Gray Shield & A.W.Green Shield): 150 runs.Bowling**: Two day competitions: 15 wickets, Limited Over competitions (i.e. 1st Grade LimitedOvers, Poidevin‐Gray Shield & A.W.Green Shield): 8 wickets.In seasons were these qualification requirements have not been met, the following has been applied:Batting: Two day competitions: minimum <strong>of</strong> approx. 4 innings, Limited Over competitions (ie.1stGrade Limited Overs, Poidevin‐Gray Shield & A.W.Green Shield) minimum <strong>of</strong> approx. 3 innings.Bowling: Two day competitions: minimum <strong>of</strong> approx. 40 overs, Limited Over competitions (ie.1stGrade Limited Overs, Poidevin‐Gray Shield & A.W.Green Shield) minimum <strong>of</strong> approx. 30 overs.Figures for the seasons <strong>of</strong> non‐qualification have been printed in italics.Current record holders havebeen highlighted in bold type. Records can be held by multiple players.** Records for 1st Grade are a combination <strong>of</strong> the two day and limited overs competitions.INITIATIVESThe clubs statistics are in a constant state <strong>of</strong> review and improvement. This season, all partnershipsfor 1st grade have been compiled, and the top 10 partnerships for each wicket have been published inthis season’s annual report. The career statistics per grade for current players (i.e. played at least onegame this season) have also been included, and are highlighted in bold type.In 2007, the Sydney <strong>Cricket</strong> Association made the decision to retrospectively combine the statistics for1st grade two day and 1st grade limited over competitions for historical purposes (which was notdone in the initial seasons following the inception <strong>of</strong> the 1st grade limited overs competition). As aresult there are some changes to the records <strong>of</strong> past annual reports.In future years, the following data will be compiled and will appear in future annual reports:- All centuries scored by batsmen.- All 5 wickets in an innings taken by bowlers.- Game scores and results sorted by opposition, venue and team Captain.- A complete compilation <strong>of</strong> all available partnerships, and publication <strong>of</strong> all partnerships <strong>of</strong> +100runs (which as already been done for 1st Grade, 1LO, PGS & AWGS).ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSThe following people should be acknowledged for their assistance with the statistics:- Alex Charlwood, Chris Ward & Mick Rae for their help with data entry during the <strong>2008</strong>/<strong>09</strong> season.- Peter “Jerry” Maguire for his work as the designer, builder & up grader <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Club</strong>s new StatisticsDatabase, who also managed the Database this season (even though he was overseas!)- And to last but not least – Greg Livingstone for his ongoing and tireless efforts.In the spirit <strong>of</strong> continual update and improvement to our statistics, please forward your informationor comments to cricket@unsw.edu.au.DARREN SUECLUB STATISTICIANPage 94 Season <strong>2008</strong>/20<strong>09</strong>
