Remarks: Arcangeli (1935a) by no means indicated<br />

that he introduced <strong>the</strong> name Cristarmadillidium<br />

as new; he later (Arcangeli<br />

1936a) proposed <strong>the</strong> subgenus Cristarmadillidium<br />

for Armadillidium muricatum. Since<br />

this name was already mentioned in <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

paper, <strong>the</strong> publication date is 1935, not 1936.<br />

Remarks: Vandel (1973b, p.130) mentioned this name in<br />

his paper on Oniscidea from Melanesia, as if already published<br />

elsewhere. The name appears nei<strong>the</strong>r in <strong>the</strong> paper<br />

on Oniscidea from Cuba (Vandel 1973c), nor in any<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r publication. Therefore it is a nomen nudum.<br />

O<strong>the</strong>r species: 93, most <strong>of</strong> which will not remain<br />

in this genus after thorough examination.
