JOINT OPERATION WING OF KIOCL LIMITED & RASTRIYA ISPAT NIGAMLIMITED17.1 Shri Veerabhadra Singh the then Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Govt. of India along withShri R Ashok, Hon’ble Minister for Home & Transport, Govt. of Karnataka visitedthe Corporate office on 14-11-2010 and inaugurated the Joint Operation Wing ofKIOCL Limited and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited for establishment of Mining andValue Addition Projects in the State of Karnataka. Hon'ble Steel Minister in his addressasked the Govt. of Karnataka to expedite the process of granting new mining lease in36Inaguration of Joint Operation wing by thenHon'ble Minister of Steel, Govt. of India, Shri Veera Bhadra Singh
Ramanadurga of Bellary District for which KIOCL Limited has already applied for grantof mining lease. He has observed that KIOCL Limited is functioning without captiveIron Ore mines for the past five years and it is essential for the Company to have itsown captive Iron Ore mines to achieve its ambitious expansion plans.17.2 The Hon'ble Steel Minster felt that the coming together of both KIOCL and RINL is amove in the right direction since both the Companies do not have their own captiveIron Ore mines and they should carryout value added products business using in-housetechnology and achieve desired goals.
