HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT23.1 Human Resource Development is a continuous process. Training and Development ofall levels of employees is given priority by <strong>the</strong> Company to improve <strong>the</strong>ir skills andcontribute productively to <strong>the</strong> Company. During <strong>the</strong> year, <strong>the</strong> achievement in this areawas 1509 Executive trained man days and 2558 Non- Executive trained mandays.23.2 During <strong>the</strong> year <strong>2010</strong>-11, following in-house training programmes were organized <strong>for</strong>Executives and Non-executives to enhance <strong>the</strong>ir skills and knowledge:Advanced Communication skills, Stress Management, Productivity ImprovementTechniques, Fire Fighting and First Aid, Safety operating procedures, Handling ofproposals and contracts, Basic Computer skills, IRDA Act 1999 etc.23.3 In addition to <strong>the</strong> above, <strong>the</strong> Company has sponsored <strong>the</strong> programmes like InternationalSeminar and Field Workshop on Iron Ore in South India conducted by Delhi University,National Seminar on Explosives and Blasting Techniques <strong>for</strong> mining, quarrying andinfrastructure industry conducted by NITK, Suratkal etc.41
