HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT23.1 Human Resource Development is a continuous process. Training and Development ofall levels of employees is given priority by the Company to improve their skills andcontribute productively to the Company. During the year, the achievement in this areawas 1509 Executive trained man days and 2558 Non- Executive trained mandays.23.2 During the year 2010-11, following in-house training programmes were organized forExecutives and Non-executives to enhance their skills and knowledge:Advanced Communication skills, Stress Management, Productivity ImprovementTechniques, Fire Fighting and First Aid, Safety operating procedures, Handling ofproposals and contracts, Basic Computer skills, IRDA Act 1999 etc.23.3 In addition to the above, the Company has sponsored the programmes like InternationalSeminar and Field Workshop on Iron Ore in South India conducted by Delhi University,National Seminar on Explosives and Blasting Techniques for mining, quarrying andinfrastructure industry conducted by NITK, Suratkal etc.41
