Wind Energy: Member of Executive Committee for<br />

the Implementing Agreement in the research and<br />

development of wind turbine systems. Participate in<br />

Annex for wind and hydro systems and Annex for wind<br />

system integration.<br />

The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER)<br />

The overall aim of the Council of European Energy<br />

Regulators (CEER) is to facilitate the creation of a single<br />

competitive, efficient and sustainable internal market for<br />

gas and electricity in Europe.<br />

The European Regulators’ Group for Electricity and<br />

Gas (ERGEG)<br />

ERGEG is an advisory group of independent national<br />

regulatory authorities to assist the European Commission<br />

in consolidating the Internal Market for electricity and gas.<br />

International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRÉ)<br />

CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems)<br />

is one of the leading worldwide Organizations on Electric<br />

Power Systems, covering their technical, economic,<br />

environmental, organisational and regulatory aspects.<br />

<strong>NVE</strong> participates, inter alia, as a member of the Board<br />

in the Norwegian national committee and a as member<br />

of the study committee on System Environmental<br />

Performance.<br />

European Committee for Electrotechnical<br />

Standardization (CENELEC)<br />

CENELEC’s mission is to prepare voluntary<br />

electrotechnical standards that help develop the Single<br />

European Market/European Economic Area for electrical<br />

and electronic goods and services removing barriers to<br />

trade, creating new markets and cutting compliance costs.<br />

The Union of the Electricity Industry (EURELECTRIC)<br />

Its mission is to contribute to the development and<br />

competitiveness of the electricity industry and to promote<br />

the role of electricity in the advancement of society.<br />

CIRED – International Conference on Electricity<br />

Distribution<br />

CIRED works for the purpose of increasing the business<br />

relevant competencies, skills and knowledge of<br />

those who see themselves as a part of the electricity<br />

distribution community. CIRED is dedicated to the design,<br />

construction and operation of public distribution systems<br />

and of large installations using electrical energy in<br />

industry, services and transport. CIRED covers the<br />

whole field of Electricity Distribution Systems and<br />

associated services, including dispersed and embedded<br />

generation issues, the technical aspects of Electricity<br />

Supply and related aspects such as cost reduction,<br />

environment, regulation, organisation and related IT<br />

systems.<br />

The Nordic Energy Regulators (NordREG)<br />

NordREG is a cooperative organization for Nordic<br />

regulatory authorities in the energy field. Their mission<br />

is to actively promote legal and institutional framework<br />

and conditions necessary for developing the Nordic and<br />

European electricity markets.<br />

Nordic Project on Distributed Energy for Remote Areas<br />

The objective of the project is to identify renewable<br />

technologies and new energy technologies suitable for<br />

remote areas in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway,<br />

Iceland, and Greenland.<br />

Climate and Energy: International project. The project<br />

comprises several institutions representing Nordic and<br />

Baltic countries.<br />

NATO; Industrial Planning Committee (IPC)<br />

Ad Hoc Working Group on the Protection of Energy-<br />

Related Critical Infrastructure (AHWG), subgroup<br />

electricity. The aim of the working group is to examine<br />

the electricity infrastructure and resulting vulnerabilities<br />

and discuss potential preventive and/or consequence<br />

management measures, and develop a catalogue of best<br />

practices for the protection of electricity-related critical<br />

infrastructure.<br />

Nordisk Beredskapsforum (NordBER)<br />

The objective of the forum is to conduct a dialogue between<br />

the involved parties concerning contingency planning and<br />

crisis management in the power sector. NordBER deals<br />

with issues which are not managed by TSO cooperation<br />

through Nordel. The forum consists of the Nordic energy<br />

authorities, TSOs and other relevant parties from the<br />

Nordic countries.
