Consideration will be given to the variousways the role has evolved in different academic settings andcountries, how the position is informed by recent generalcongregations, and the relationship between Jesuit schoolsand the Society of Jesus in the future.Both perspectives will mention how the prominence ofthe Jesuit identity of the school can be ensured when thisposition is given authority within leadership and operationsof schools. Discussion will incorporate the importance ofongoing, systematic, collaborative and graduated formationfor all employees and students. The speakers will share theirexperience of ways to develop successful programs withinschools, and how our schools can coordinate efforts withlocal church and Jesuit colleagues regionally, nationally,and increasingly, internationally. Today, we have a myriad of devices availableto use beyond printed words on paper. In this session, we’llexamine research on reading habits in the United States.After this contextual analysis of reading habits, the sessionwill focus on an experience with a Tech Petting Zoo. ATech Petting Zoo is much like a traditional Petting Zoo butwith electronic devices instead of animals. After introducingthe devices, participants will have hands on time withthe devices. On hand will be Kindle, Kindle Touch, KindleFire, iPad 1 & 2, Chromebook, Lenovo Android tablet andany other device I can get my hands on.
