Several Organisations, e. g. ICNIRP (International Commission on
Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) and IEEE (The Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.) developed safety
guidelines about permitted levels of radio wave exposure for the
general population, based on thorough scientific studies.
To meet the maximum permissible value for radio wave exposure,
there must be kept a distance of 20 centimeters if running one
GSM channel and additional 20 centimeters for every further GSM
channel.
Personal medical devices
Radio waves may affect the operation of cardiac pacemakers and
other implanted equipment. To limit the risk, a distance of 20 cm
must be kept if running one GSM channel and additional 20
centimeters for every further GSM channel. If you suspect, that
interference is taking place, immediately move away from the
device.
