Introducing the SolarEdge Power Harvesting SystemSolarEdge Installation Guide for Three Phase Inverters – EU – MAN-01-00016-1.59Chapter 1Introducing the SolarEdgePower Harvesting SystemWhat is the SolarEdge PowerHarvesting Solution?The SolarEdge power harvesting solution maximizes the power output fromany type of solar PV installation while reducing the average cost per watt.The sections below describe each of the system’s components.SolarEdge Power OptimizerSolarEdge power optimizers can be connected to existing PV modules inorder to maximize power harvesting by locally performing MaximumPower Point Tracking (MPPT) at the PV module level.The power optimizers keep the string voltage fixed, regardless of the length ofthe string and of the environmental conditions. Each SolarEdge poweroptimizer directly transmits performance data from every PV module over thepower line.Three types of power optimizers are provided by SolarEdge, as follows:• Module Add-On Solution, connected during installation to one PVmodule. P/N: OP250-LV, OP300-MV and OP400-MV, PB250-AOB,PB350-AOB.• Thin Film Solution (TFI), connected during installation to betweenone and four PV modules. P/N: PB250-TFI and PB350-TFI.• Module Embedded Solution (CSI), is supplied embedded into a PVmodule.
