PROTERINA-CA forecast and prevention systemFOR climatic change impacts onrisk variability for wildlands andurban areasFounded by: EU Italia-Francia MarittimoProgramme (2007-2013)Objectives of Proterina-cThe Project focuses on climate change impacts onwildlands and anthropic areas, with particularemphasis on the relations between climatechanges and risk. The main objective is to provide common tools toprevent and reduce the negative effects of climatevariability on risk conditions. Fire danger andbehaviour models are used to evaluate theinteractions between climate and weather andfires. The study areas are Sardinia, Corsica and Liguria, that are characterised by strong similarities interms of both topography and land uses.Key points of the Project are also communicationand education programs, integrated into wildlandfire management.SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMMEWelcome address(26 June: 9.30-10.00)D.
